Quiet.comfortable. Slept well

Liked: I was staying overnight after an event in London. I wanted to be close to Marylebone. Didn’t want to spend a fortune.

Good location but very expensive...

Liked: It was in a good location
Disliked: It was not fabulous as booking.com suggested, it was a very average pub with football blaring out. The room was up a very un pub like staircase, the room was soulless with no carpet and ill fitting curtains and stained walls. It was nothing like I was led to believe, a very poor accommodation experience.

Exceptional

Enjoyable one night stay.

Liked: We’ve stayed before so knew it had good facilities and we like the area.
Disliked: There seemed to be a small leak in the bathroom floor which we reported so will hopefully get fixed.

Great and a bit an...

Liked: perfect location in the middle of Marylebone. A stone throw away from shops,cafes and restaurants.Room size really great for London. Room was super quiet and park facing. Value for price was excellent. Would absolutely reconsider booking Gunmakers. Check-out was super easy...just had to drop the key in the key-box.
Disliked: although it was stated on the front door that as of 11am the luggage can be stored we could not get hold of anyone. We tried to call several times until we finally were successful and could leave our suitcases.

Such a shame where somewhere...

Disliked: I arrived, checked in and paid in full. After I had paid I was told that, due to IT issues, the team could not issue me with a receipt. They gave me the manager's details to email for one. I asked if the IT was working in the room (important to me as I was travelling for work) and was assured that it was but, unfortunately, I found out when I got to the room that it was not.I emailed the manager as requested but did not receive a receipt. Instead, I had an email via booking.com with an invoice, stamped unpaid and asking for urgent payment. Surprised, I phoned and spoke to someone called "Jake". He showed no interest in resolving the issue and could not tell me when (or if!) I would receive a receipt. He hung up on me mid-sentence. I sent a further email to the manager to complain and Jake replied saying, "You must understand we also serve customers at the same time and I thought the conversation was over so I politely said goodbye so I could continue doing my job." This is not true, in that he did not say goodbye (politely or otherwise) - he hung up as I was asking when I could expect a reply from the manager. It also ignores the fact that I am also a customer, and I was trying to resolve a problem of the hotel's making.Unfortunately given this Iack of service am unable to recommend this hotel to others.

More like a B&B without...

Liked: Lovely room above a pub in a great area close to both Baker street and Bond Street stations and wonderful Marylebone area. Staff were responsive and helpful when I had any questions face to face.
Disliked: Because there is no breakfast available, it would have been nice to have a proper coffee machine to make a good coffee first thing in the morning.Tried repeatedly to ring the contact number and email beforehand to see if I could drop my luggage earlier in the day. No response whatsoever, even booking.com could not reach them at all. In the end I just turned up and it was okay.
