Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Very poor

Disliked: The "double room" was basically a single room with a small double bed in it. There was only one cup and had to ask for another one. The shower was really hot and could not be turned down. There was a fan going in the en suite which, when we asked, we were told was timed and would stop after a while. This continued all night and was still humming when we left. The curtain ties were under the bed and covered in dust.

It was ok for one...

Liked: Location was great, staff were nice and friendly, we had a triple room with our own bathroom.
Disliked: We didn't know that the restaurant was closed on a Sunday, so we couldn't get any breakfast. The room was very tired but we had a kettle with tea and coffee. We were left half of loo roll for 3 people, when I went to ask for another i couldn't find anyone. The lights in the barh/shower weren't working, that part was very dark.

Beyond terrible

Liked: It had a car park, was close to the centre and the 2 staff at reception were polite
Disliked: The reception floor was sticky. The room was dingy and stank. The room was cold. The quilt was thin and meagre but felt heavy with the discarded skin of a thousand previous occupants. The lighting was dubious and the furniture rickety. There is no double glazing and the windows were draughty. When I complained to the hotel about the room, they refused to give me a refund. Do not even consider the possibility of staying here. It is singularly the worst hotel experience I have ever had

Horrendous. Grubby. Uncomfortable. Noisy.

Liked: Location and price. Free parking.
Disliked: We stayed for 1 night as a half way stop over on a long journey. Based on price wasn’t expecting much but this was way worse than I was expecting. Bed was really uncomfortable. Everything was a bit grubby and it was noisy, could hear everyone in the building talking, snoring. Terrible nights sleep. If bail hostel is your style then this is the place for you! We ate in the Italian restaurant there and food was ok but really could do with advertising it better as we wouldn’t have bothered eating there if we knew that the menu would just be expensive pasta! All in all, would not stay again if I was being paid to do so, honestly, spend an extra twenty quid and stay somewhere else!
