Great value for the price...

Liked: Close to centre, quite spacious, clean bathroom and good wifi.
Disliked: Bit noisy, generally a little dated, but nothing that would prevent me from coming again.

Good value

Liked: The room and bathroom were spacious, the bathroom was clean and the heating + TV worked well. The beds are okay. Internet speed was excellent for a hotel. Overall a really good value.
Disliked: The carpet could have been better vacuumed, the heater had a wonky valve and the noise insulation is not very effective but nothing that would prevent me from staying here again.

Disliked: I have no idea why this is rated as high as it is on this website. As someone working on New Years Eve, I wanted to get a nicer place to stay overnight (as I come into Reading to work from Essex). And, after seeing all the good reviews on this website, I thought that it was a good deal. Little did I know I would be left with an untidy and uncomfortable bed, handles falling off of drawers & wardrobes, and a room with no climate control whatsoever. I was also disappointed to hear that the breakfast (that was advertised as included in the price) was in fact not included at all. When services was provided, though, what was there was antithetical: cutlery left dirty in coffee making services; a desk without a chair; a view from a window which was just the building next to it. I thank them for their service, and love supporting local independent business, but you can find so much better - and closer to the train station - at the Travelodge at the end of the high street.
