I came down from WA to see a show and needed an affordable room for a few days. The hotel was walking distance to the venue and lots of food, drink and activities. Great hotel for the price!

Liked: The Grant Hotel is a great value in the heart of SF and you can use it as a home base to visit anywhere in the city. We walked to the piers and then you can ride-share to further locations. The property is old like most of the buildings in the area but it is decently maintained. Security seems good with high resolution cameras everywhere. The bathrooms are very large for the smallish rooms which allows two people to use at once. We didn't attend the continental breakfast but it looked good.
Disliked: At first glance the property looks pretty old with some bubbling or peeling paint. The elevator will give you pause with all the noises it makes. We just decided to treat the building as a "walk-up." You'll have to pay for parking but the garage is directly across the street and there is a discount for guests. (Fee was $35 per 24 hours at the time of this review in 12/24)

An ideal place to stay...

Liked: The room was comfy and had a great view of the city. The staff was friendly and I also enjoyed the complementary continental breakfast.
Disliked: I wish there was a fridge and a microwave in my room, but overall it's not an issue.

Superb

Liked: That’s hotel good location to go Union Square like little Time Square in New York City and close to cruise fir going to see Golden Gate Bridge Famous in the word and got free coffee and some tea and drink water

Great stay

Liked: I had a great stay at Grant Hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. Great location in Downtown, in a safe area. The room was perfecly clean and quiet. The breakfast is included coffee or tea and delicious pastries. There wasn’t a hair dryer but I asked at the front desk for one.

Liked: The breakfast was amazing. The coffee with bakery stuff was so good! Really nice hotel. Great atmosphere! Nice interior!

Superb

Great budget hotel - would...

Liked: Great location, clean room, unlimited hot drinks and cakes/pastries (delicious cakes, pastries not top quality but can't argue given the overall deal) in the morning, responsive and pleasant staff. Great for the price.
Disliked: Abit dated - but can't argue for the price. Alittle noisy with protests nearby but easily drowned out by putting extractor fan on.
