One not-great dinner and otherwise...
Liked: While a bit off the path to our final destination in SC, I thought this would be a nice stop on the way, and the price was attractive. The lobby was festively decorated for Christmas - it looked beautiful. Our check-in was great; the front desk lead was super lovely and informative.The room itself was fine. This is a somewhat dated property - but everything is clean and the room was huge. Bed was comfy. Shower pressure was good - not great, but fine.
Disliked: Caveat: If we hadn’t gone to the bar, this entire review would be an 8, reflecting a really nice stay that did the job we needed it to do.We sat at the bar for a quick bite after driving for 7.5 hours. When we arrived, there were three people tending bar and less than 20 guests in the vicinity. The servers seemed extremely overwhelmed for what appeared to be basic orders. I want to show some grace here: I believe the bartenders are responsible for the restaurant as well, but there were not a plethora of tickets. And I’m sure with it being the Sunday before Christmas, there were some short-staffed realities. My husband and I witnessed what seemed like inexperience… at best. (One server was 100% in over her head.) It's not what I'd hoped in booking our stay here this evening. It was just decidedly unpleasant. They were snapping at each other, and we’re literally less than one foot away.I did say something - and I want to be extra clear that the hotel IMMEDIATELY tried to rectify the bad experience. We received two vouchers for breakfast the next morning. The meal was lovely and the service absolutely perfect. The bar service we received the night we checked in doesn't reflect what I'm sure the resort typically holds as its standard. And the way the hotel handled the situation speaks volumes. I felt heard and my concerns were addressed in real time and to our appreciative satisfaction. That’s literally all a customer can ask. No grudges here.

Overall excellent and enjoyable
Liked: Great property and staff. Good food and amenities.
Disliked: Did not like the fact that you are charge immediately for the amenities and than charged again at the end of stay. So you are basically double billed until the pending charges from the 1st ones come off in a few days
