The grand isn't so grand...

Liked: From the outside it looked wonderful. Reception I could not fault untill I got to the room
Disliked: The room was terrible. Like a crack heads den . we had booked the cheapest room with no windows due to the storm . But we were advised we have a free upgrade. And it's something I wish we had not taken Old broken furniture a toilet held to the wall via unfinished 2x2 kicked in doors that did not need a key to open the wiind would pop it open or a slight push would do that and a window we couldn't close with curtains held together with bailing twine and added blood and poop stains . And the upgraded view I here you ask . Of a flat roof filled with litter and debris . In comparison are friends got a sea view with a whirl pool bath nicely decorated and with it came with dressing gowns and slipper etc while we got the crack den and instead of the dressing gown and slippers a oil filled radiator which kept us warm while we kept getting up to push the main door closed at various points of the night

Good and bad at The...

Liked: Mostly everything. After reading negative reviews we were really worried but we needn't have been. Food was edible, very "all inclusive" standard, but the cakes were delicious. Public area's were really clean Absolutely loved our jacuzzi bathBedroom was lovely and warmStaff were fabulous. Really welcoming and friendly
Disliked: Beds!!!! Oh gosh we were on the 6th floor and I've never slept in such an uncomfortable bed. Well cant say slept as we hardly got any sleep. We could feel every spring in the mattress. The noise from the wind rattling the windows was awful (latch broke so couldn't close it properly) and the window frames were filthy!!!Lots of dust on furniture, looked like room hadn't been used in a whileOverly expensive drinks and the cost to play bingo was ridiculous

Grand disappointment

Liked: Location good for where we needed to be to see family
Disliked: Our first room had a broken bed, bathroom door too hinge wasn't secure and so door falling off and lock didn't work, main lights in room didn't work either, room smelt of mildew. Second room after moved due to issues was okay but had dirty towel in it still in wardrobe. Due to weather a table top had smashed outside on the terrace that I'd reported to staff and they said they would sort out. Went down again later and was still left with broken glass everywhere, reported again they just told me we know already, don't get why area wasn't blocked off or cleaned up. Funny mildew smell around most of the corridors when walking to room, even though it's cheap wouldn't stay again. Only positive was that it was my daughters first stay in a hotel and she thought it was funny with all the moving rooms etc.

Another great stay!

Liked: This is the second time we have stayed this year and I'm sure we will be back soon. The room was comfortable and a good size for a family of four. Christmas decorations were absolutely stunning. We were blown away!Reception staff lovely, friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Although we got parked ok, it is a bit limited and we were very lucky to get parked outside. Only small niggle, the bar staff were friendly, however didn't seem like serving drinks was a high priority. Plugs a bit limited in the room, however not a huge issue.

Exceptional

Liked: Location and staff.
Disliked: The loud squeaky floor in room 450. I we were staying for longer I would have demanded a change of room. But as we only stayed a couple of nights, and rarely in room, we just got on with it.
