Elegant Ambiance with Some Drawbacks

Liked: Grand Hôtel Stockholm is an architectural masterpiece, offering a prime location in the heart of the city with stunning waterfront views. The historic charm of the building, combined with modern touches, makes for a visually impressive stay. The hotel's spa is a true highlight, providing a luxurious retreat, and the dining experiences at Matbaren and the Seafood Gastro were exceptional, with high-quality ingredients and impeccable flavors. Its central location also made it easy to explore Stockholm’s main attractions, adding to the overall convenience.
Disliked: The spa, while excellent, was located far from my room, requiring me to navigate through a crowded conference area, which diminished the sense of exclusivity. The service felt stiff and snooty at times, lacking warmth and personal attention. The elevators were slow and outdated, and despite the hotel's grandeur, the rooms felt small and quite basic for a property of this caliber. Additionally, the extra entry fee for spa access was extremely high, making it feel less like an included luxury and more like an upsell. Lastly, while the hotel claims to be cash-free, they still accepted cash in certain areas, leading to inconsistencies.
