Disliked: The swimming pool was a bit small.

Liked: Good quality breakfast
Disliked: Hotel could do with a refresh as you can tell the doors in rooms are old a chipping away, windows are single glazed.

Pleasant, convenient & relaxing.

Liked: The breakfast is always fantastic, full English buffet hot counter and extensive choice of fresh fruit, cereals, hot cold drinks, in the splendid warm cosy restaurant area.
Disliked: Particularly disappointed that in the past 18 months, the hotel has started the charging guests to use the spa/pool/gym. We have been using the hotel for several years and used to enjoy an early morning swim/sauna. However as a matter of principal we no longer use this facility and feel the hotel should advertise this charge in the description of facilities.

Always a lovely stay

Liked: We always stay at this hotel when visiting family in the north east. We love the reception, lounge & bar area , it has a nice ambience and always feels relaxed . The staff are so professional and friendly.
Disliked: Whilst the bedrooms are a good size, they are rather tired now and we were disappointed at the lack of basic comforts , only one pillow each on the bed and the duvet was rather thin , leaving us feeling cold during the night . I’m sure the staff would have provided more had we asked, but we were okay and didn’t make it an issue. It would be nice to have had extra pillows and a blanket in the wardrobe, which you do tend to find in most hotels?That said, we will still stay here when visiting this neck of the woods …. we always enjoy our stay.

Very good value for money...

Liked: Good value for money, good size rooms, large TV, decent enough shower, and Tea/coffee facilities. The refurbished room was nicer. Very quiet overlooking woods. Bar grill was efficient and menu selection OK.Good location for us visiting Freeman Hospital. Plenty of free car parking. .
Disliked: Good size bed however mattress too hard for my personal taste

Superb

Liked: The staff were excellent. The pool costs £5 for hotel guests but was good and not too busy.
Disliked: The hoovering wasn't amazing in the room and the room was cold.
