Grand place (haha) but for...
Liked: Central Location and very fancy.
Disliked: No fitness centre and no Guinness drink. Also it was £17 for a shot of whiskey.

Sadly Underwhelmed by the Grand...
Liked: Location was great being in the city centre as my wife and I were staying to watch a show
Disliked: Check in was very slow we queued then decided to leave and come back in half an hour and it was still busy with the queue taking a long time. When it come to our turn, they had no record of our booking. Eventually we were found and told we were getting a "bigger room" than we booked I thought excellent as it was for my wife's birthday. No, it was an accessible room and this wasn't explained to us at the time. So rather than go down and queue once again I decided I would put up with it however being a man of 6foot the shower was very low not to mention the water pressure was terrible. We went out and enjoyed our meal and our show and were hoping to experience the observatory for a nightcap only to be told no. . This was before even asking if we were residents of the hotel only then he said maybe try back in 45 mins.A positive was that the bed was comfortable however the room was unfortunately flawed in that during the night as I didn't want to wake my wife when I needed to go to the bathroom I went over to switch the bathroom light on and it turned out a light beside the bed needed to be switched on first which for an accessible room I found surprising as someone with mobility issues might struggle to go hack to the bed then back to the bathroom again.I've stayed in many nice hotels and don't mind spending extra fir a luxury stay but I am very disappointed with this stay and don't think I would return. I have stayed in other Hastings hotels which are far superior but if I am in Belfast city centre I would rather stay in the Fitzwilliam or The Merchant.Another minor detail when we stay in a Hastings hotel we usually take the complimentary duck home for our son and I was surprised to see our room didn't even have one.
