Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Emma, Chester, visiting De Montfort Hall Leicester Sun, 5 July 2015

Liked: Was close to the venue we had to go to.
Disliked: The room was dirty. One socket no lamps and the sink was dirty and the taps didn't even work. Shower room was dirty and smelled. Toilet was not very clean and I found the staff very unhelpful. It was like they didn't want you there. All in all, I would never go back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Lucky we only had to stay 1 night.

Brilliant

Liked: The only thing that was a downer was having to go up the stairs. The staff were amazing. The place was really clean and we got a good night sleep. The location was really near to where we needed to be and parking was excellent

Pleasant

Liked: Good value for a place to rest our heads. Very accommodating to my husband when I was hospitalised due to an accident and he needed to stay on, allowing him till 3.00 pm each day to let them know if he still needed the bed.
Disliked: They need plug sockets near the beds. When you're hard of hearing and have to charge your phone across a large room, you can't hear the alarm.

Very good

Liked: Good price, great location(it's about 5 mins from the train station) , lovely staff, clean room and bathroom. The communal bathroom situation was better than expected, the hotel is arranged in such a way that you're only really sharing the bathroom with a couple of rooms, not an entire floor. There's lots of bathrooms on the floor should you so need.
Disliked: The mattress was knackered so was sleeping with springs in my side, the communal bathroom has nowhere to hang or put your clothes down in. There was only a single socket in the room, had I known I'd have brought and extension block, that was more of a neutral however.

Avoid

Liked: The room was actually fine, only minus was there was no kettle.Problem was rude staff, woman in reception. I paid via booking.com. in advance but she claimed room was unpaid and demanded a new payment. I had to pay to get a room and I nearly missed my event trying to sort out refund with booking.com customer service. I got refund eventually and the gentleman was actually really nice, but didn't have time to go shop to buy a breakfast so had to check out super early. I have used them before but never again!
