We enjoyed our night in...

Liked: Our group of 4 adults rented 2 cottages. Each cottage had a wonderful view over Thames and the water. The rooms were quite small and the kitchen facilities were minimal, but we enjoyed having snacks on the deck during sunset. The bathroom in our cottage was on a different floor than the bedroom, which was tricky in the middle of the dark night. We enjoyed hikes in the area and the museum in the Thames School of Mines.

Disappointed

Liked: We were disappointed when we walked in. The carpet was stained and dirty, the kitchenette was in a cupboard with absolutely no space to do anything and there wasn't even a sharp knife to cut a tomato. It was adjoined to another unit through a door in the living room area through which we could hear the neighbor talking on his phone. The whole unit is tired and poorly maintained. The decking is unmaintained and looks near the end of its life. However, the view is excellent and the bed was comfy. We booked and paid for 2 nights but only stayed one.

Liked: fantastic views even from inside the cottage. Separate bedroom upstairs with rather small but very comfortable bed.Very friendly and helpful host.
Disliked: We didn`t realise that the cottage wasn't free standing. There was some noise from the other cottage through the shared wall.

Superb

Liked: The cottages are perched on a hill overlooking the Firth of Thames on a beautiful property. Lots of windows let you enjoy the view and we also had a private deck area. The room was not large, but comfortable, with a small fridge. Access to a pool, which we did not use. Owner was very helpful and welcoming.
Disliked: We needed to drive into town for dinner, which was not a problem for us, but if you want to walk to town/restaurants this wouldn't work for you. A lot of steps to get to the room, so if you have accessibility issues, this would be a problem.

Liked: Good value for money, the owner was nice and helpful. The place is comfortable and is as advertised.
Disliked: The only negative and this was pointed out in the description, so not a surprise and was expected but the steps down to Camellia are slightly difficult if you have large bags.
