Liked: Very nice room and excellent service at breakfast
Disliked: Minor mix up with receipts not arriving via email but I was able to return to the property and collect a paper copy.

Customer service great. Hotel not...

Liked: My stay at The Gonville wasn't problem free. However, the staff and management did all they could to help and put things right. The room was decorated well. There were no ceiling lights and I found the lamp lights cosy but also too dark at times.The bed was huge and comfy. There are chairs to sit. No full length mirror. The shower was powerful - not hot in the mornings. The steam took ages to clear. The sink plug didn't close, so if you need to fill the sink, it's a problem. Around the plug area could have been cleaned better.There is a coffee machine with pods. None of the pods say what they are, but my husband said they were good. The Bentley was unavailable. If that's an important part of your trip, make sure you check it's in service and it book early. Bottled water was provided each day with little packs of biscuits.
Disliked: After a day of travelling, there was no tea in the room. Every day, we had to keep asking for tea bags. There was a lovely tea pot with cups and saucers but only 2 tea bags each morning. On day one, we asked for tea bags, which were left, but they took away the sachets of coffee!Breakfast. Luke warm tea. Undercooked eggs. I asked for some sausages to make a sandwich they were not hot either.

Fire alarms!

Disliked: The fire alarm went off twice - at 4.30am and 5.30am. No explanation was offered at check out, although an apology was. Some sort of gesture would also have been welcomed given the disturbed night's sleep. A hotel is, after all, supposed to offer comfort and a night's sleep
