Very poor customer service

Liked: Having stayed previously we liked the bar and restaurant areas and the rooms were good value for money.
Disliked: Having stayed a few times, we recommended the hotel to friends and I booked 5 rooms, all the couples complained that the rooms were cold and were advised the heating didn’t go on until 6pm, in January this is not great.I was a little embarrassed having recommended the hotel. I have now contacted the hotel 3 times advising of this and asking for their feedback and they failed to respond to any emails. I find this extremely poor customer service.

Liked: Staff were so friendly and helpful and the room was great

Liked: Clean warm accommodation in a central location.
Disliked: Could not use the access from the car park to the reception. Had to squeeze past car park barrier and dirty wall which is not ideal.

Historic hotel - nice staff,...

Liked: Food was good. Bed was OK in single room, but small. Single room a bit cramped.
Disliked: No Wifi in the rooms - having to go to the lobby was inconvenient and liable to interruption.

Disliked: The shower in our room was in the bath. The bath was very slippery and there was no bath mat. I slipped over whilst getting into the shower and fell hitting my forehead, which hurt my neck, wrenching my arm/shoulder and causing two massive deep bruises to my thigh. Subsequently I have discovered the incident caused whiplash. I reported the accident to the hotel staff, the lady on reception seemed bored with my accident, did not take any details or show any concern/ ask if I needed a doctor. She told me that mats for in the bath were held at reception ????? I asked why they weren't in the bathrooms and she didn't know. If you stay, get a bath mat when you arrive.In addition, there is a lift from the carpark, but it is not accessible unless a staff member lets you into the area (or you catch it down from reception and hold the outer door open) when we arrived the staff did not let us know about the lift so we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs to the reception area. Staff did not volunteer any information unless asked.
