The Golden Lion Hotel has welcomed guests including royalty for more than 200 years. The Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote a poem on a hotel window frame a plaque commemorating this is located on the hotel's front. Lovely, old fashioned hotel with,...

Liked: The hotel is a little old fashioned but I do personally love this. The staff were so friendly and helpful, could not be faulted. Will definitely stay here again.

Liked: The hotel was lovely clean and warm the on site restaurant very good with fresh local produce the staff amazing from the cleaners to the manager nothing to much trouble plus the piper fantastic

Liked: Good location. Good size room. Staff pleasant and friendly. Pleasant comfortable public rooms. Bedroom clean and roomy (could have done with some drawer space) with chairs and table to relax at. Well thought out.
Disliked: The bar which seemed very small for the size of the hotel. Closed sharp at 11pm on New Years Day.
