A Little Gem

Liked: Lovely appointed room with juliet balcony. Huge comfortable bed. This hotel has lots of character.The location is great and the staff is very friendly.Breakfast selections were good, and the dinner in the restaurant was absolutely delicious.
Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: I stayed there for the third time and at my first stay it was main season and I booked in advance and got a very nice room. The past two times it was out of main season and I got both times the rooms which were closest to the elevator or the housekeeping 🙈. In both situations, it was obvious that the hotel was not even half full, and the hotel should have a repeating customer in their system, what easier way to indulge a customer than to give him a nice room (and not 216) facing close windows on the opposite side (being forced to close the curtains). Not to mention an upgrade. I travel through Norway a lot, staying in many hotels and interestingly the old traditional ones, which are located at a historical site or a major point of interest, have not changed much of their interior since the seventies. The price quality of those ,older traditional' hotels is cheeky in comparison to even new hotels. Example old hotels: Check the Gloppen Hotel ( Sandane), the Fjordhotel Rosendal and the Trolltunga Hotel in Odda. All of them are old with little as a possible investment but still expensive in comparison. An example of a newer hotel where I am staying now, it's called Ydalir Hotel in Stavanger. Clearly much better quality, with better service and by far cheaper!
