Staff were very friendly and happy to help. The hotel is in a good situation, close to the station and Hull City Hall.

Liked: This was my third time at the Gilson. Every stay has been great. The staff are very helpful, the rooms are always comfortable and clean, and the location is the best in Hull. The train station is only a 2 minutes walk from the hotel, a Wetherspoons is across the street and the museums are only about 10 minutes away.
Disliked: If there were an ice machine in the hallway I think I could live there.

OVERRUN WITH BED BUGS

Liked: If it wasn't overrun with bedbugs it would have been nice
Disliked: Bed bugs started coming out even with the lights on within 20 minutes of getting back to the rooms. The place is swarming with them. The reviews go back 10 years, and booking.com is refusing to refund mw unless the hotel email them confirmation of the bugs?? Absolutely disgusting. The hotel reception staff was wearing a filthy sweater and said all they could do was move us to another room. I had to pay nearly £600 to house us in another hotel, with no compensation from booking.com. utterly contemptible.

Liked: the room was very clean and big and the location was first class 2 minutes from town center everything about my holiday there was fantastic and booking again for next year
