Liked: The pool area was good and the communal area was always nice and relaxed.
Disliked: The noise was just unbearable. They give you free ear plugs but I brought my own anyway and they do absolutely nothing. At 11pm they turn the music up even louder so you can feel the bass in the room. Everyone in my 8 bed dorm had trouble sleeping. Security were not very friendly and made you move from the out door communal sofas because the venue was “closed” however there was no where else to sit. My sheets had brown stains all over them and there are no communal toilets when the venue is closed, so you have to share 1 toilet between the 8 of you in a dorm. It’s not sound proof and it makes it very awkward when you do want to use it. It’s raved about for solo travellers but from my experience it’s just big groups of footballers/stags and hens on nights out and it makes it really difficult to make friends.

Liked: A great place to stay for those looking to party, the noise from the parties at night can be a bit annoying if you're looking to rest. But the hostel's dynamics are really cool.

Liked: Hostel is in the middle of Cairns and close to everything. The bar, restaurant and the pool are great and a great spot to have lunch or drinks with friends. Restaurant serves really good pub food. Highly recommend.

Liked: Massive hostel spread across 4 floors, parties with live acts and DJs every night of the week. Nice bar & a big pool with cabanas, a volleyball net and waterfall. Friendly staff at the bar and reception. Travel store onsite to help with activities. Self service laundry. Dorms have private ensuites, most have a balcony area. Very centrally located, close to shopping, bars, train & ferry terminals. $18 taxi ride to the International Airport.
