Exceptional
Liked: Comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. Breakfast was fine as well as dinning in hotel restaurant. The ubiquitous art paintings are a nice bonus.

Clean, quiet, comfortable and friendly....
Liked: The hotel was comfortable and clean, and the staff were very helpful, especially after I had an accident in town and needed assistance booking additional travel home. I had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant one evening (though clearer information about their opening times would have been helpful). The gallery aspect was a lovely touch - there was a nice cat theme in the corridor leading to my room! - and I wish I'd thought to wander round and explore more of the pictures. It was also nice and quiet; as I usually feel hot in hotel rooms I slept with one window open most nights and was not disturbed by external noise at all.
Disliked: The location was a bit out of the centre. It was walkable, but as far as I could discover either via a busy ring road or rather empty residential streets, and as a solo female traveller I wasn't entirely comfortable with either on the dark evenings when I was staying. That said, it's a short tram journey from the centre, conveniently situated between two stops on the busy Eisenbahnstrasse, so really not so much a dislike as a minor concern.

A delightful stay in a...
Liked: My third time here, the Galerie Hotel is my favourite hotel in Leipzig. It's in the middle of a vibrant quarter, full of cheap restaurants and supermarkets, a short tram ride to the centre of town. The hotel itself is full of artworks, on your walk down to breakfast you'll definitely be distracted by the paintings. Friendly staff who know their city well. Highly recommended!

Disliked: Okej let me describe this horror. I came to this hotel because of the serious heating break down in my company's apartment. After 5 days in cold I payed 100 euros to have some good conditions. When I arrived it turned out that the room I was given after the reservation via booking.com has got damaged both lamps, which after turning them on sounded like "bbbzzzzzz". The personel told me, that they cannot call the electrician because on the weekend it is not possible, but absolutely I was not offered any other room - just I had to stay in a dark room for two days !!!!!! At the second night something was waking me up the whole night - knocking into the roof, probably a damaged part of it. Water was hot only one day, the second not. MY THEORY IS - this is the remark for booking.com - I was given the worst possible room because this is the way how they treat booking's client - IF I reserved directly, I would be given a good room - I think so because when you reserve through booking they cannot take deposit - when you reserve directly - absolutely YES - they take 200 (!!! - this is crazy) - and THIS is the secret ! Cheaters !
