Beautiful Hotel, friendly staff. More...

Liked: I stayed at the hotel as I was attending a trade show in the area. The hotel advert looked amazing and in the centre of Epping so location close to the venue and to all the local restaurants. Took a little while to find the carpark as at night and located to the rear, but no visible signage from the road. However starting with positives, firstly the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, served a glass of sparking wine upon arrival, personally shown where to park ( I had parked in the wrong area), sorted me out a space. The team was young, but very professional, made me really welcome like a true guest, not someone just to be of assistance to. Service was top notch.Moving on the room I got was exactly the one I wanted, it has a huge bath in the room, separate to the ensuite. The room was beautiful, my daughter would describe as boujee when she saw the photos I took. I stay in a lot of hotels and the first thing I will say aside from the amazing visual, was that the room smelt clean. Too often a hotel room, linen and towels smell dusty. Not in this hotel, it was very fresh.
Disliked: I enjoyed my stay, and the staffs and property was excellent, so this is a little picky; but there is room for improvement.1 - More information about times etc, I returned on the Sunday in time for a Sunday roast that I was really looking forward to. I got back and parked up at around 5:30pm, took around 20 minutes for them to sort me a parking space. I asked when the restaurant closes, I was told 9pm. So I decided to freshen up and rest before heading down at 7:30pm. To which I was told whilst the restaurant is open, the kitchen closed at 6pm. There is no information in the rooms welcome pack to confirm what times food is available. So this would be useful.2- I only had one breakfast, as I had to be at my venue for 8am, and the breakfast didn't open until 9am, so not really business friendly. The food was nice, I had breakfast on the check out day. The eggs benedict described as with grilled ham that turned out to be a rasher of smokey bacon was a bit odd, more used to a ham hock or ham/gammon slice, but it was okay.3 - The hotel is also a pub/restaurant, on the day I was due to arrive I was told that there was an event booked for that night and so live music would be played until 12:30am, later than the normal 10:30pm, this proved true with loud chatter until around 1 am. My room located above the pub, and each of my windows above external smoking areas, and the hotel is on a busy high street. So yes my sleep was disturbed, but they were apologetic and did give some advance warning. The windows need better sound insulation, as traffic noise was louder than the music.4- Water pressure and water temperature. With such beautiful facilities, just a shame that the water pressure was so low. I dont know whether it is possible to invest in a pump to increase this.5 - The mini fridge needs an opaque door as the blue light prevents black out at night

Superb

Liked: Great name for this funky hotel. The staff were most helpful. Our stay was very short, so didn't get to eat there etc. But it did look lovely.
Disliked: Our room/ensuite was very small. But it didn't matter to us very much as we were just there for a few hours. Definitely would recommend this hotel. I'm sure they have bigger rooms also.

Liked: Staff were amazingly helpful. Very professional and were very stylish. Very Essex. Nothing was too much trouble.
Disliked: Rooms were very chic but we found the room rather cluttered for our taste .

Not what I'd expect from...

Liked: The only thing that made this place acceptable was that it was clean. Welcome drinks on arrival are clearly a softener for what is to come.
Disliked: There is very limited parking - you have to pay £15 and then there might not be a space. Staff suggest parking on the street, this is Ok at the weekend, but it is permit parking during the week.If staying at the weekend beware the music goes on beyond midnight - beyond 12.30 in our case (their own website warns that there may be music until midnight which they don't adhere to). It's extremely loud music that makes the floor and everything in the room vibrate and rattle it's like you are actually in the middle of the dancefloor. When we complained the staff were less than impressed and said it's on their website, see comment above.The coffee machine did not work and there was no kettle.The room was small, dark and fairly poor lighting .I would not recommend staying here if you want to sleep.

Liked: Breakfast was okay, no complaints.Room was nice.
Disliked: Facilities in the room were not good.Coffee machine with no instruction on how to use. Room for two, only one coffee cup, no kettle, cups or spoons to make tea although provided with Tea bags. Very lively night club/party theme to the venue, on arrival at midday to leave our bags and check in, could not easily hear conversation with staff due to the music being so loud.When we arrived back at 12:15 am the music was banging and advised that it would finish at 12:30. From our room we could hear the music and the volume going up, so much so that the fridge was vibrating to the beat of the music.At 12:40 telephoned night porter number to find out when the music would stop, no reply or call back. Music finally died down just before 1:00am.
