Comfortable and quiet stay
Liked: Fantastic surroundings, room was comfortable with good facilities, nice old grand house with huge areas and fireplace to sit, would be a good venue for weddings, amazing walk down by the river
Disliked: Bathroom could do with a bit of update, dinner was a bit on the pricey side, in general the house showing signs of age

A dated over priced Hotel...
Liked: The hotel has old world charm, and the lounge and grounds are lovely. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
Disliked: Although dog friendly (blanket, bowels and biscuits provided) we were put in a room in need of redecoration. Mould on ceiling, dated bathroom and a seen better days carpets. And expected to eat in a seperate (in need of decoration) dinning room away from other guests. The website raises expectations which leads to disappointments on arrival. Clearly states bar meals are served. They are not. That they can cater for all dietary requirements. They couldn't. A simple request for margerine instead of butter with breakfast was a request too far. There were no alternatives for a dairy free desert and the only solution offered was a poached pear. The evening meal was a set price for two courses or three courses. We requested one course due to limited options and this cost £28.50! My husband opted for the sirlon steak which had a surcharge bringing the cost of his meal to £47.90!!!!
