Will definitely stay here again now that I know what to expect. Rooms are for sleeping only.
Liked: I love the communal vibe.
Disliked: Teeny, tiny room.

Very comfortable, sunny open views,...
Liked: Breakfast was adequate. Its a small cafe in the lobby. Coffee was excellent, food was kind of average but considering its all handled by a single staffer it was pretty good and I did not have to wait too long for it to be brought out after ordering at the counter. Its fun to eat in the cozy lobby watching the world go by. The street outside has an old feel to it, with lots of activity without being a traffic sewer.
Disliked: The pool opens too late to use on your last morning.

Aesthetically pleasing , but needed...
Liked: A charming oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of downtown grime, the Freehand offers pleasant rooms that seem Japanese-inspired: clean and generally comfortable with a raffia-like tan carpet in my room. I liked the little musical performances in the lobby in the evenings. The bed is comfortable.
Disliked: The duvet/comforter is not thick/heavy enough, and there were no blankets in the closet (Hotels used to do this, but now it’s all a thin covering. It’s cold and I need the heavy blankets to fall asleep!).There’s no refrigerator or microwave in the room. Big thumbs-down here. You are going to lose a lot of business because it’s very inconvenient. You have no room service, and your restaurants close extremely early (7 pm!). Who does that? You are losing huge revenue here, too! I have been here for 6 days and I would have gladly gone to dinner at your restaurants, but I often am just getting done with work just around that time. And then I go on your website to find your dinner menu is, but nothing is visible! Very frustrating! Also, I had forgotten my toothpaste the other day and asked the front desk for some, only to be told you don’t have any, but CVS is a couple blocks away. Even Motel 6 has toothpaste;)
