Refurbishment doesn't dampen anniversary stay.

Liked: The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment at present, the work undertaken so far the improvements are very encouraging. The refurbished room we stayed in was elegant and provided space and comfort. Beds and pillows were ideal and linen clean and fresh. Staff were very accommodating and left a lovely card wishing us a happy anniversary and complementary chocolates on arrival. This hotel makes an ideal location to explore this wonderful city
Disliked: It would be unfair to criticise the hotel for issues related to the refurbishment, however, breakfast was slightly disappointing, the buffet style cooked breakfast had several components missing and the remainder was cold, when the eggs I ordered came the remaining items were cold and unappetising.

Liked: The property is undergoing renovations, but the part we stayed in was beautifully finished. The room was huge, and the beds were very comfy. Lovely bathroom and shower.
Disliked: The walk to the new block (outside because of the renovations) was well lit but a bit creepy. Post-renovations, I can’t imagine this will be an issue though

Liked: The hotel is undergoing some renovations & there are a lot of scaffolding, builders & building work. However this did not cause any inconvenience at all. The builders were polite, the team did everything they could to make the disruption not affect our stay. We had the best time!
