Liked: Beautiful hotel, great facilities Spa great, outdoor heated pool and luxury lounges.

We will certainly not be...

Liked: The location the building and grounds are quite exceptional. Very well placed for access to Fowey.
Disliked: Every meal was accompanied by excessive noise from screaming children. We understood that this is a family orientated hotel but did not realise that parents and staff would be so ridiculously oblivious of others comfort. After complaining about the noise, we were offered a remote room to eat alone. This we declined, as it was just an easy solution for the staff and did not address the real problem.The shower outlet in our bathroom was filthy with green mould growing through the silicone seals.The floors were not clean. In particular, the restaurant rooms frequently had crumbs on the floors and bedroom carpets were not vacuumed for several days at a time.The dirty carpet in the corridor outside the door of our room was not cleaned for six days and was only cleaned after we complained. The seasonal menu is very repetitive, and chef’s specials were the same most days. Not at all up to the standards we expected.

Lovely hotel would come back...

Liked: Amazing grounds and very dog friendly.
Disliked: Rooms were maybe a bit too hot.

Don’t get drawn in by...

Liked: The building and the setting/views. The room was also nicely designed.
Disliked: It’s not luxury at all. I honestly think if you’re a couple with no kids then don’t bother wasting your money, we were so so disappointed - I think the hotel has tried to cater so much for families that it’s because like a euro camp vibe with no luxury at all. The breakfast is also really bad.Also our room was so hot and it was the end of October at 11 degrees - they give you a free standing air con in the room as they obviously know this issue, however that was so loud you couldn’t sleep with it on.We won’t be going back.
