Formerly a Georgia Dower House of the Northerwood Estate Forest Lodge Hotel blends historical charm and contemporary style with warm hospitality. Located just minutes from the 'capital' of the New Forest there's plenty of walks from the door and an array of boutique shops just a short stroll away. Stylishly decorated with a warm and cozy color palette rooms feature a flat-screen TV complimentary toiletries bottled water and tea and coffee making facilities. Farmed in the Wiltshire and Somerset countryside prime hand-cut steaks are aged for 28 days and seasoned with tyme and butter to bring out the best flavor and taking center stage in the two AA rosette 1820 Grill & Brasserie alongside a mix of modern brasserie classics. Breakfast includes a continental buffet selection and cooked-to-order breakfasts. The large indoor heated swimming pool is also a big attraction and is exclusively for hotel guests. Family friendly dogs are also welcome at Forest Lodge Hotel.

Excellent New Year stay at...

Liked: The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and had everything you need and more, including the nice Christmas / New Year welcome of a card and chocolates in the room - a lovely touch. The provision of a cosy, comfy quiet room to relax is also excellent. The breakfast food and staff were absolutely brilliant.
Disliked: The bar was very welcoming but some comfy seating rather than just tables would have seen us spend time in there for a drink... it's the only thing I can think needs improving.

I do not recommend

Liked: Great location, good restaurant and dinner.
Disliked: The water in the bathtub and sink drained poorly. The room was dirty. The hotel and the pool need renovation.

Liked: Great experience from start to finish.. lovely room with everything you need..soft bed and pillows...great drinks facilities..fresh water daily.. fantastic breakfast... lovely swimming pool..a cellar room to chill or read or play board games...great parking... location was ideal ..six minutes to the center of Lyndhurst..a great pub a few hundred yards away..super friendly and helpful staff...will definitely stay again
