Good not great.

Liked: Lovely location across the street from the beach. But had a motel feel.
Disliked: Felt the fog catcher inn was a bit overpriced for the quality and feel of the room. Motle feel and coffee maker did not work. smaller pool than I expected, but was nicely heated. Everything else was good except noise from other rooms.

Something out of a horror...

Liked: My toilet tank overflowed at 4am on the first night. This was after the pipes put on a ‘concert’ from 9-10pm and finally overflowed at 4am. We cleaned up the bathroom and contacted the property. They sent out Pablo who was very helpful and sympathetic. The asst manager David showed up and was very nice and empathetic. He offered to move us to their other property that day. Said they’d offer assistance to move us the 500 feet and give us a bigger room. Room was supposed to be ready shortly as we were going to the castle later that day. Then the bathtub didn’t drain and I told Pablo and David about that. We didn’t get into our room until after 2pm, and finally unpacked after 3.30pm. We were exhausted and lost that day. The new room was close to outside stairs and first room was ADA due to my mom’s knee. Second to last day the room keys stopped working and I had to go over to fogcatcher bc Cambria landing office closed at 6pm. We were here after 30 years to celebrate my mom’s bday. Regrettably it was anything but. David did what he could but couldn’t refund for the stay because I booked via a third party. Booking.com said the property should give a refund and they can’t do it, unfortunately. I have pics of the bathroom and everything has been documented. We loved staying at this property 30 years ago, and appreciated David and Pablo, BUT this stay was something out of the Bates Motel.

Liked: Nicely arranged room. We loved the fireplace and that we could hear the ocean, even though we were towards the back.
