Superb

Liked: Very friendly staff and felt cozy

Exceptional

Liked: Exquisite location, ambience and decor. Old with a modern approach. Log fires, attentive staff, clean and quiet rooms. They totally understand special dietary requirements so as a coeliac I had the full choice of the menu but a gluten free version prepared especially by the chef for both breakfast and dinner. The room was a superior, the bed was huge and super comfy, shower and bath in the bathroom and plenty of freebies, cocktails, snacks and suchlike.
Disliked: Hard to get the temperature right in the room. I left the aircon running at 20deg but overnight the large radiators came on full chat and I woke up extremely hot in a dry room.

An enjoyable one night stay

Liked: The location - we just had a one night stay - we were visiting Silverstone the next day so this was ideal. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent and there was a good range of options for breakfast too. The hotel is very atmospheric and wished we’d had more time to enjoy it. All the staff we met were friendly and professional.
Disliked: The WiFi wasn’t great and we struggled with the EV charger…after a 4 hour journey this was a concern

Lovely relaxing stay.

Liked: The food was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was grand and spacious, and had everything that we would expect. Would highly recommend!

Liked: The atmosphere, location. Staff and of course food. All very well managed. Nothing ever a problem for them. Always feel welcome and nothing to much trouble. Thank you.
Disliked: The only thing was the room positioned over the doors below to the rear yard was quite noisy along with wind which slams the doors. Only happened a couple of times.

We would go again but...

Liked: The building is stunning and cultural, but we were not in it. We were put in the spa section which was nice but not what we expected.
Disliked: There were rules, that were not explained or communicated! We were however communicated on how we can upgrade and spend more money.
