A lodge in recovery but...
Liked: A last minute booking as the lodge had not been reopened when we planned our trip. It was a nice addition. Clearly still recovering from the fires and we were pleased to see that the lodge was donating 100% of our fees to the funds to help rebuild the town. The room was spacious and we loved the log fire, we had bad weather so it was very welcome. We enjoyed the planetarium evening.
Disliked: Service was very slow, possibly due to lack of staff, but the hotel did apologise for this at the time.

Fairmont must have better contingency...
Liked: The size and facilities on offer
Disliked: Quite chaotic. Room did not have AC on the first night and was unbearable. I requested to have AC room but this was not available until the following day. Thanks to Asmeet he arranged this for the next day. We had one good nights sleep and the next day had to evacuate due to a wild fire. Obviously this is unforeseen and very unfortunate for the beautiful Jasper town. However the hotel management was in chaos and clearly had no evacuation plan of their own. There was a power cut and we had to scramble to collect our things and evacuate. Of course nobody can predict these things and thankfully we all managed to get out however on reflection a hotel of this size should have a disaster plan of their own to guide and support guests. We are from overseas and had no idea what to do. Anyhow - we hope all are fine and well.

No air conditioning, it burned...
Liked: The pool
Disliked: No air conditioning and it was 95 degrees!!! It took them thirty hours to get us into another room. Uncomfortable and way too expensive. We definitely do not recommend the Fairmont ever!!! Overpriced and a very low value place. Oh and by the way we cut our trip short because the whole town and part of the hotel burned to the ground!!!
