Liked: It was peaceful and the staff very friendly.
Disliked: It’s undergoing renovations and the smell of skunk was prevalent by the elevators. You also had to drive to get anywhere. It’s in a business district away from restaurants and stores.

Great location, nice and quiet...

Liked: Great breakfast, the oatmeal was one of the best I've had in a hotel and there were lots of interesting choices for toppings. Eggs were also made perfectly. Good location for nearby stores and dining but also nice and quiet. Bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: Clearly some renovations ongoing to the leisure/exercise facilities, which had a minor negative impact on the cleanliness downstairs, but I didn't have time to use them anyway!

Nice enough hotel but it...

Liked: The younger female reception clerk was fantastic and very nice. She allowed us to check-in early since there was a room available. We were hoping to use the self-service laundry. However, "The Market" didn't have any laundry soap for sale. The breakfast was slightly better than usual.
Disliked: There were no pool towels available. None in the fitness center, either. Had to request some. There were only a few pillows provided, and no extra pillows available upon request. The large fridge lacks a freezer. There is no handheld shower head. And it was impossible to close the bathroom door -- that lack of repair was a first in my experience. I usually don't bother to post reviews but all these shortcomings prompt me to wonder if this hotel will remain open for much longer given it's odd location on the far edge of Reading?
