Crazy deposit reason

Disliked: Having to pay a $250 deposit because my address is within 60 miles which I'm totally not understanding the logic about that...why do that apply to locals ? If that is a policy then it should be on website so people will know before reserving a room. I will not stay here anymore nor will I recommend to anyone.
