Nice hotel for the money...

Liked: Comfortable accommodation bed linen beautiful and clean . Beds very comfortable . Great selection of teas / coffee in room . Beautiful clean towels and lots of beautiful toiletries . Evening meal was lovely . Staff very friendly and nothing was a bother . Staff a credit to the hotel and the best thing about the place .
Disliked: Smell of smoke all through upper floor . Bedrooms very dated . Although clean lots of cobwebs all over roof and light fittings . Dust and cobwebs all over room . Carpets very tired and need replaced . Very dark and dull rooms . Lots of dust . Very cold bedrooms had to use electric heaters . Very very dated bathrooms , needs refurbishment , tiles and grout need totally replacement very grubby !! So much so decided against using bath / shower . Very damp smell and strong smell of smoke . Staff quarters very noisy . Flat at top of stairs smell of smoke and dogs smell . Lots of banging of doors through night . Traffic noise all night . Staff room / changing room ?? Opposit rooms staff out and in banging and shouting lots of noise . Breakfast very poor and very basic . No offer of extra juice or tea and coffee . Eating in bar not great experience due to burns supper going on , very cramped . Staircase very steep and in need of update and refurb . Lots of patches and fillers on walls , in need of paintwork
