Convenient to Universal Studios but...

Liked: Great location, convenient room for a family of five. The staff was friendly. There are several nice restaurants, a bakery and Walgreens nearby.
Disliked: Dirty hallways smelling of Marijuana half the time. The mattress on the pull-out couch was filthy. We paid extra for included breakfast, but there was no breakfast at all. The employee explained that they had run out of food faster than expected, and were not restocking until Sunday. On Sunday morning, the only thing available for breakfast was instant oatmeal.

Bad

Disliked: The room and hallway smelled so bad that I couldn't even stay the night. I've never experienced that before in all the hotels I've stayed at.

Really disappointing

Liked: The staff were very helpful in trying to fix all my problems. Hector was really sweet and kept on apologizing. It was only 2 minutes from Universal Studios.
Disliked: When we checked in and got to our room it was completely filthy. The beds were slept in and messed up. There was trash all over the room. The towels in the bathroom were used and strewn about. We went back to the front desk and let them know. They told us it was the last room with 3 beds in it, so they would have to split our party apart into 2 rooms. The 2 rooms they gave us to replace the 1 room were clean, but one of them had live roaches in it. We were so tired we just killed all the ones we saw and went to bed because, after the whole check-in process, it was already after midnight. The hotel advertises a continental breakfast, but the only thing they had was muffins, breakfast bars, instant oatmeal, instant grits, and coffee. It wasn't like this was cheap either, it was almost $200 for one night.

Could not stay place was...

Liked: I could not stay there. The room was not available and no appropriate conditions to sleep. What a complete mess. We arrived at 21:00 after enjoy the universal, the check in supposed to be at 15:00. And at that time the room was not ready we have to go to somewhere else and we could not stay in the room I reserved.
Disliked: I wont stay there once again. Completely a mess, cockroach and dirty. We could not stay there. The room was not available and no appropriate conditions to sleep. What a complete mess. Poor

Liked: Location. The rooms were cleaned very well.
Disliked: Most, but not all staff were difficult to deal with. We confirmed the booking a week in advance, (we had 4 rooms) and it took 20 minutes to find the booking on their system. They blamed it on the fact we booked it through booking.com! When we came a week later we got 3 of the rooms on time, the last room was an hour late. Once we got into our 1st room, someone using a key card entered our room. We complained to the staff and they apologized. Was unnerving. One family member claimed they saw a cockroach in their room, but I can't confirm that. They have a pool, but there is a sign from the local authorities shutting it down for being unsafe.
