Not as advertised but GREAT...

Liked: Essence was great regarding customer service and explaining there is no breakfast and what we may need and was super good with our Autistic kiddo!There was an exit super close to our room so we didn't have to walk around the entire place to exit.
Disliked: I previously stayed at Extended Suites in Massachusetts, so my expectations were very high. Unfortunately, this location did not meet those expectations.Free Wi-Fi was available; however, if you wanted more reliable speeds for streaming or downloading, you would need to pay $5.99 daily, or for a weekly or monthly rate. While booking, we were promised a free breakfast, which was one of the reasons we chose this location, especially since we were traveling with two kids. However, upon arrival, we were informed that breakfast was no longer provided. Additionally, cups, dishes, pots, and pans were not included; they had to be purchased, and you could take them with you when you left. We didn't want to spend $20 on a set of dishes or pots and pans for just a two-night stay. We also hoped there would be plastic utensils available, but those were not provided either.The fire alarm in our non-smoking room was not functioning. Daily cleaning services were no longer automatically provided; instead, you had to request them, as cleaning was only done once a week. Additionally, if you wanted to exchange towels, there was a small fee for getting fresh ones. We were also surprised to find that there was only one trash can in the kitchen and none in the bathroom.The homeless and housing crisis is so severe that the hotel is being used to shelter homeless individuals, as well as those waiting for housing or transitioning to apartments. As a result, we did not encounter any other guests during our stay. This raises the question of why FREE BREAKFAST is no longer provided. One suggestion would be to implement a key entry system for the breakfast lounge, accessible only to paying guests if there's a concern about providing "free food" to those housed there.

Liked: I liked the room, the beds were very comfortable, it had everything necessary for the stay, clothes iron, hair dryer.
Disliked: Breakfast could be improved

Aside from reeking cigarette smoke...

Disliked: The room reeked of old cigarette smoke that has been ingrained into the walls and headboard.
