Great staff, anything perfect except...

Liked: Clean, cheap (for Ny standard), silent though men at work outside. Internet excellent. But most of all the staff: anyone would need to be mentioned, but I wanna talk in particular about Facundo and Melisa, that helped me when I had some problems, but they did it not only because it’s their job: I felt human warness in their actions and in their smile. Anyway lovely staff in the whole.
Disliked: There was only a problem, but not small. I went to Ny to run marathon, and the following day (Monday) I felt quite sick. Probably I got cold and had some bowel problems, you can imagine what. After a terribile night, blankets and towels were dirty. Cleaners came and did their work but at the checkout moment I was forced to pay $ 250 for something that of course was not intentional. More: I gave the cleaners also my boxers and the t-shirt that can be bought only by marathon finishers. I never saw these clothes back and I think they finished in the garbage. So I was damaged twice: I had to pay $ 250 and I have no more my t-shirt. I’m not blaming staff, they just obeyed to their boss, but hotel manager never talked or wrote me. Awful end of a lovely stay

Liked: the room was large, very close to the financial quarter of Manhatan, price was good for the stay
Disliked: the quality of the amenities, the floor was chipped and not leveled, the furnitures were old and smelly and the paint had come off in most of them. the water faucets and shower mixer and sink tap were not atteched well to the walls or tiles and one could be afraid to open the water faucet as it might have come off the wall breakfast was not enough for everyone eating there. you would need to ask for some more of the items as you could not find the food you were told there was.

Disappointing - old & tired...

Liked: The location is good and the Spanish receptionist was really nice. Room was up to standards for cleanliness & bed felt comfortable.
Disliked: This hotel was really disappointing. It is old & tired. Our room was extremely tired, all the paint on the walls and door rims was chipped. The entire outside of the building is in scaffolding (can barely find it in the dark) so the room is very dark/no sunlight and the corridors are very old carpet style. The AC/heating didn't work without creating a roaring noise in the bedroom that we couldn't sleep with so had to sleep in a way too hot bedroom. The bedside lights in the bedroom didn't work. The tap in the bathroom spat out black bits which was unpleasant. Overall wouldn't recommend.

Liked: The staff was super pleasant and attentive. The location served our purpose. The facility was well kept and roomy for a New York hotel. The decor was very inviting.

Liked: The gentleman who worked the desk on Monday night was very friendly and helpful. That's it.
Disliked: Unfortunately, there's not much to like about this hotel. It's very shabby. My room was visibly run down. Everything looked and felt cheap. The door to my room was bent and difficult to shut properly. No shades on the bedroom windows, only very light and see-through drapery. The "breakfast bar" was a joke, hardly worth $20 (so I passed). When I went to use the minibar, the perrier bottle had been opened with a broken seal. Just a real wreck of a hotel.
