Liked: Charming! So close and walkable to downtown Newburyport! The rooms were cozy, staff was helpful, a perfect little getaway!

A lovely town

Liked: The room had nice decor and was accurate to the photos. The room was immaculately clean. The bedding was cotton and bed was comfortable. The TV was large and modern. There was a large fridge. The shower was hot. Furnishings were well maintained. Beautiful town and a great location within the town which was quiet, dark, felt safe, and was close to restaurants.
Disliked: Unfortunately there was quite a lot that fell short of our expectations following the not cheap price. There was insufficient parking for all rooms and we were not made aware at check in. There is no garden or sociable outdoor seating area. There is no lounge and the breakfast room which is open until 11 is not comfortable. Breakfast was poor with far far too much convenience food and disposable, single-use plastics. No hot fresh options (eggs). Does a plastic stirring stick really need a plastic wrapper etc. No fresh filter coffee just pods. No sliced bread for toast. Fruit juice in individual plastic bottles (and unfortunately after finishing mine I found it was almost a month out of date).The fridge in the room is loud. There is only one chair and no desk. The smart TV was not connected to the internet and when mentioned to reception they were unwilling to connect it. The room was ground floor and had 3 beautiful windows all facing the parking area so lacked a view and privacy. Despite a stay of 3 nights our room was not serviced, towels not changed etc.The bathroom toiletries were in tiny disposable bottles and there was only one of each. It was hard/impossible to get the shampoo out, insufficient for 2 people, and bad for the environment. Please use refillable cannisters. The shower temperature control was difficult (cold, then warm, then HOT and then when adjusted back to cold).Generally the level of waste created by each stay was very high. Please consider the environment.

Great location!

Liked: Fantastic downtown location. The breakfast was better than I expected, with fruit, yogurt, good muffins, typical continental breakfast items, as well as protein choices.
Disliked: The view was of cars in a parking lot with very little privacy. An upstairs room would have been a better option.
