Good place to rest when...

Liked: Clean and simple, it's a good place to wind down from walking around Manhattan, as well as if you're just staying for a short time. I also love the breakfast for guests.
Disliked: Hard to list a dislike, but it'd be nice if there were amenities for women's health, like pads or tampons. I don't know if these kinds of things can be asked for from the front desk, though, so I could be wrong. Other than that,

It was ok. Not bad...

Liked: The staff upgraded our room without a cost increase. They were very nice.
Disliked: 2 doors down a man was screeching and banging all day/night.

Liked: Staff all nice and helpful . Clean enough.
Disliked: Finish of room rough. Not fully painted. Worst was bathroom had screws sticking out of board under mirror. The sharp end , not the flat end.Construction incomplete.

Good stay

Liked: Location was good, room was clean no bugs or problems noticed
Disliked: Someone slamming doors early both mornings waking me up

Exceptional

Too much money for what...

Liked: Very friendly staff and good location. But my room and the hotel was rather smelly. My room smelled heavily of dope, smoke and sweat.

If you are needing a...

Liked: Easy walk to the Barclay Center, which was the reason we were in Brooklyn. Staff was very friendly.
Disliked: Extremely small room and very noisy. We were kept up all night by the neighboring room with a very loud TV and screaming from someone most of the night.

Very good

Liked: The room and bathroom was clean.

Hostel type experience

Liked: Incredibly easy walk from the Barclay Center after a concert. Bathroom was updated. Bagged Breakfast was very generous- banana, yogurt, blueberry muffin, cold? cheese and egg on English muffin, apple juice. Staff was efficient.
Disliked: I got the upgraded room which was supposed to be larger. You can see from the photos that it is about the size of the queen sized bed with no room around it. There was a broken folding chair for seating. The TV is not connected to anything, as you can see. There is one fleece blanket which was not enough. Bed was OK. Towels very small. Hallways and walls finished in beautiful marble, which means you can hear everyone in every room. Smell of weed in the elevator and hallways. All lighting is controlled by switches near the door.
