Beautiful building and surroundings and...

Liked: A beautiful building in a lovely setting. Staff were friendly, but also quite loud at times chatting and laughing together within earshot of the rooms. Quality of the food at dinner was very good.
Disliked: Very limited vegan/vegetarian/plant-based options on the menu. Windows in the restaurant area, and the phone in our room were not clean and hadn't been dusted. Menus had not been cleaned. Chipped crockery was served. The hot water tap was far too hot, even when the cold water was selected. At breakfast no allowance was made for time to eat cereal, etc, before the cooked breakfast arrived, and an item was omitted from the order.

Bygone era elegance

Liked: Stunning rural quiet location, large beautifully decorated room for n Lodge a short walk from main house, chandelier, comfortable bed, nice biscuits & still & sparkling bottled water
Disliked: Only slight negative was water flow in shower was a bit intermittent .
