I was disappointed in this hotel - not good value for the money. The room was depressing; the bathroom was tiny; the staff was not helpful - I asked about spare bedding and they were unsure where it was located. The internet is an additional cost. The parking lot is confusing, and no one explains how to use the card. The whole experience was not good.
Liked: Elevator is fast.
Disliked: Older furnishings; staff not helpful.

We loved the 2 hours of free drinks and the nice hot breakfast. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable.
Liked: Spacious room and friendly staff.
Disliked: Pricy.

Liked: It was perfect for our stay. A central location within walking distance to The Middle of the Map Fest. Plenty of room (3 big beds) for my family to sleep comfortably. Great breakfast in the morning with lots of variety!
Disliked: A little pricey.

Family Suite
Liked: Continental breakfast.
Disliked: I booked a Family Suite at Embassy Suites four weeks in advance for a wedding visit from Manhattan, Kansas. Upon arrival, there was no convenient parking for check-in. The pool was closed, and despite the lack of prior notification, I wasn’t compensated. When I requested the waiver of a $50 incidental fee due to the pool's closure, I was told it couldn’t be waived, although it would be a pending charge. The hotel lacked enforcement of quiet hours, resulting in disruptive noise from children and teenagers late at night into the wee hours of the morning. The garage had a strong marijuana odor, and the elevators smelled like pets. The suite itself was poorly maintained, with stained carpets and deteriorating bed frames. When I asked about filing a formal complaint, I was told it would cost $150 and offered no guarantee of compensation. Apart from the free continental breakfast, I had a very disappointing experience and would recommend other hotels on the Plaza for better amenities and a restful stay.

Very disappointed
Disliked: Way over priced, the pool closed at 9 pm on a Friday night and the bathroom was tiny, had to pay $25 for parking garage that was trashy and hot tub was out of order. I will never recommend this location or stay again

Liked: I came to planet comicon 2 years ago and stayed at the hotel. When we planned to return to planet Comicon again this year, I didn't even bother trying to look for another hotel as we had a great experience 2 years ago. It is a pricier hotel but I figured you get what you paid for. Well, I don't know what happened in 2 years but I was greatly disappointed. We came into town a little but before the scheduled check in time. I called the hotel to see if by chance our rooms were available. I booked 2 rooms for me and my family members. They said they were so we headed to the hotel. We were checked in and went to our rooms. We went to the first room and dropped our stuff off then headed to the second room to drop the rest of the stuff off. The room was trashed. There were towels all over the floor. The bed was unmade. There was trash littered on the table. It was clear the room had not been cleaned yet. I called the front desk and they were able to get the room on the other side of the 1st room. We decided to get into our pool gear right away and get in some much needed relax time. When going to the pool, the key card did not work. There was a sign that said you needed to get an actual key card. This was not told to me at check-in. I had to wait in line while others were checking in before I could get the key which ended up looking exactly like my room key. When entering the pool area immediately saw the hot tub had caution tape wrapped around it and a sign that said out of service. Another reason, I had liked this hotel was for the hot tub. There are 2 pools, one is 3ft the deepest and the other starts at 6ft. It's was obvious with having a little one which pool we had to use. The smaller pool was absolutely freezing. My kids lips turned purple and we weren't even in there for 5 minutes. I got out and had to go in wait in line again to speak to someone. The front desk clerk stated the pools were not heated but when I stayed 2 years ago they were.

No longer worth it
Liked: Rooms are large. Location is good.
Disliked: I've been staying here ten years, and it's worse each time. Some lowlights: HVAC fan in the room rattles and shudders like a WWI biplane at takeoff; there are no ice or vending machines anymore; what little staff remains is friendly but overwhelmed; and the cost of staying there has risen dramatically. It's just not worth $225 a night.
