Disliked: Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the PriceI had high hopes for this hotel, but my stay was extremely disappointing.Terrible Staff – The staff were rude and unaccommodating, which set the tone for an unpleasant stay. Hospitality was clearly not their strong suit.Ridiculous Food Policy on Christmas Eve – The hotel wouldn’t serve any small snacks or meals unless you booked their overpriced Christmas package. Considering the hotel is far from the main town and restaurants aren’t accessible by foot, this policy is absurd. I would have understood if they clearly communicated that no food would be available at all without this booking, but the lack of transparency left us stranded and hungry.Overpriced and Poor Value – The price for staying here is way too high for what you get. I’d recommend staying in the main town at 131, where the rooms are better and much cheaper. They don’t have a spa, but honestly, you’re not missing much. The spa at Ellenborough Park was underwhelming – the sauna and steam room were cold, and the space was cramped if more than six people were present.Underwhelming Rooms – The rooms themselves were average at best, and certainly not worth the premium rates they charge. The décor felt dated, and the overall experience was far below what you’d expect at this price point. For what you pay, you can easily find far better accommodations elsewhere.I will never stay at this hotel again, and I would strongly advise them to look into hiring new staff and renovating the entire building. Looking at the other TripAdvisor reviews, it’s clear that a lot of people agree with my comments. This hotel desperately needs to improve if it wants to meet the expectations set by its high prices.
