Great Stay, Even Better Staff...
Liked: This was our first time visiting Savannah; we loved the historic downtown area and how everything is pedestrian friendly. The hotel is in the perfect location and in walking distance to everything we wanted to see. However, the staff is what makes The Eliza Thompson House a place to stay. Everyone we interacted with was personable and friendly. From the gentleman at the front desk asking if we wanted brownies after the 9:00p coffee time curfew, Keisha’s hospitality during breakfast and taking our picture, Faith at the front desk, and the gentleman who brought our luggage to the room and the additional staff who kept the courtyard and dining area clean and inviting. How a mistake has turned us into a repeat guest. Jennifer, who helps oversee customer relations, is top-notch. We had a minor mishap with our reservation, I only asked for the final statement to be adjusted with nothing else in return. She immediately updated our statement and offered us a “care package” with several individually wrapped gifts at the end of our trip to extend an apology and show their appreciation. 10/10 Class Act and example of how businesses should treat their guests! This Inn has a history of being Haunted which is why I originally chose the property. We stayed in the "Lee Room", which is quaint and perfect for a weekend getaway, with a galley style bathroom, which might be on the small side for some but was fine for my wife and I.Freshly prepared Breakfast 8-10am, Wine and Hors d'oeuvres 5:30-7p and Desserts and Coffee 8-9:30 with complimentary water and soda upon arrival and during your stay. Breakfast was great both mornings with European Style portions, good flavor and not loaded down with salt and grease. I am not a wine drinker; however, the evening wine offered had a nice taste and finish. The Hors d’oeuvres were a miss and surprisingly lacked flavor. However, the desserts were great.
Disliked: The courtyard is a nice touch for enjoying the morning breakfast and spending time relaxing during the evening. The internet was on the slow side to connect but manageable for checking email. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom are good. I am a stickler for a clean bathroom and had zero complaints or concerns about cleanliness. The shower head is painfully aggressive and could be replaced. The bed was comfortable, the pillows are good, however, I thought they could be upgraded/have options of firm/fluffy/etc. (my wife said they were fine! Lol) The exposed brick and vintage pictures on the wall were a great touch especially staying the weekend before Halloween to make it more of a “Haunted” experience, which it did not disappoint. Ghostly Encounters: During our stay on our second night at exactly 3:18am both my wife and I were jolted awake when the in-room continuous AC unit went out…. Looking around we didn’t see anything, or anybody, so I got up turned the AC back on- which it came back on with no issues. Now neither of us believe in Ghosts, however… we did pick this Inn because it is one of the most haunted Inns in Savannah… Conclusion: Remember this is an inn, with history and age and is not a corporate hotel. If you prefer a generic hotel experience, I encourage you to expand your horizons and stay here for the weekend. The breakfast, desserts, location and most importantly the staff make it worth visiting and the character of the Inn and room is a fun way to top off a day exploring the historic sites, graveyards, trolley rides, and the countless historic attractions in the area. We will come back to stay whenever we are in the Savannah area!

Delightful place to stay in...
Liked: Modern and quiet courtyard rooms. You make your breakfast time/choices the night before, which meant only a short wait the next morning. Just perfect casual courtyard seating. Pre-dinner drinks and canapes, and then later dessert! Kudos to chef Mike for coming up with such tasty and different creations each day. Great location on one of the prettiest streets,
Disliked: Curtains in the courtyard rooms were not sufficient to keep out the apparently "always on" courtyard and outside corridor lights. The four-poster bed's mattress was ridiculously high, requiring use of the (included) steps. But why make it so difficult to begin with? I could imagine this could cause problems for some guests,
