Liked: Coffee was good in the AM. Staff was friendly!
Disliked: #21 was the caravans we stayed in. We paid for a bathroom- shower was outside - cute, but we didn’t use it. The potty room stunk so bad we couldn’t use without feeling like vomiting. Keeping the door closed was an absolute must!! At 3am we peed outside instead of making trek to communal bathroom, not kosher I know! The cleaning products were a bit over powering. I’m sure the issue the potty was it just isn’t vented properly. So El C. Is off my list for places to stay in Marfa!

For a uniquely eclectic experience...

Liked: More traditional accommodation options are available in downtown Marfa. Pick El Cosmico for a uniquely eclectic experience. We stayed at a teepee and a safari tent years ago; this time, stayed at a medium trailer with more amenities including mini fridge, stovetop, private toilet and outdoor shower. Marfa is a small town, all the restaurants like Cochineal and sights like The Chinati Foundation are 5-10min drive away. IMHO, best place to stay in this quirky little gem of a town.
Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: All amenities are excellent, you can walk downtown

Disliked: We only have to talk to the people working in the lobby and the women working here are incredibly sullen and tense. I had the same problem in our last two stays. I don't know if I want to see this after a 6-hour journey. They try to be cool and enter a different mode. I saw the same thing with different people while checking in/out. It has become a very neglected place, there is nothing that would make me choose to stay there again. Bohemianism is not neglect, I think it's time for them to make that distinction.

Dirty, cold, and uncomfortable.

Liked: I liked the location.
Disliked: The place is incredibly run down. We stayed in a safari cabin with a nice bed but the floors were filthy with dirt and pebbles. The shared bathrooms are glorified outhouses with plumbing with hardly any privacy due to it being made with boards of wood with cracks between them. The faucets were leaking, one at full blast because the handle broke off (and they are in the desert). One shower has a lamp plugged in underneath the shower head -- I hope they don't electrocute someone. They had dirty dishes in the sink of the shared kitchen (it looked like they had been there for days).

Liked: Easy to find. Plenty of space.
Disliked: It was a little cold during our stay, but that’s my nature for you. Thankfully, the bed had a heating blanket in it, which made it very comfortable, regardless even cozy.
