Good hotel right in the...

Liked: Spacious bedroom with super-king bed. Good sized bathroom with full-sized bath. Breakfast was good.
Disliked: Bedroom got very warm although they did provide a fan. Pillows hard but fortunately we bring our own. Dinner menu seemed very expensive so we ate elsewhere.

Liked: Room was lovely - furniture fitted in with decor of whole hotel which we loved . Views from window of river was stunning. Staff all friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. Location was great too as right in centre of town - fab shopping in Kelso _ but at the back of hotel was next to river so you would never guess how close you were to amenities.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast: Range of buffet cereals and pastries with good selection of jams and toppings.
Disliked: Room - although 'en-suite' the hand basin was located in the bedroom outwith the toilet. The furnishings were generally 'tired'. The room was hot and stuffy and there was only a small window being an attic room. Breakfast - general buffet - pre set tables - only 2 pats of butter per table but that was only enough for one bit of toast ! Had to hunt down more butter. I had curdled milk one morning. The organisation with staff in diningcroom seemed a bit unstructured. Restaurant meal. Not a particularly big selection on menu. Starter and dessert were good, main courses disappointing for the price.

Liked: Consistently excellent hotel, food at dinner and breakfast outstanding. Tyler on dinner service is very good.
Disliked: The service at breakfast was much less professional than the evening meal service, with a few mistakes and very slow. However it must be said the actual breakfast when it came was worth the wait.
