Econo Lodge Downtown North, Kansas City

When we arrived, the interior of the hotel was dirty and you could tell it was an older hotel. However, we continue to try to check in until the man with the needle tracks on his arm stepped out of the elevator. At this point, I did not feel safe to check into the hotel and ate my deposit and called Holiday Inn Express instead. If you are a female, don't go here as safety will be a concern.

Disliked: When we went to take a shower the water was leaking from the ceiling (not just a small leak, it was almost like it was raining). There was black mold due to the leak. I’ve tried contacting the property, but they haven’t gotten back to me yet. We left 10/26 and they said they’d call us, it’s now 10/30.

Disliked: Where to even begin….. first off the entire hotel smelled like weed in the lobby, every hallway and even outside of the hotel. Second my room smelled extremely moldy when I first walked in, like somebody left food out from last month and forgot to throw it away; the bath tub was not properlly cleaned and I had to buy my own cleaning products to avoid possibly catching an infection from that tub. After inspecting the room, I found the beds to feel as hard as cinderblocks when laying down, so a good night sleep was but only a dream. There were other occupants in my room WHICH WERE ROACHES on the wall, on the floor or on the ceiling. The shower water was a nightmare; it changes temperature on its own very fast. One moment, I had decent warm water, within a second it instant feels like Antartica, and after trying to increase the temperature on my own by moving the handle VERY slightly, it instantly felt like the edge of Hell by the way it was burning my skin. There was no ironing board, however i believe the roaches took that along with the missing wifi that a normal hotel should have. Finally, last but DEFINITELY not least, there was no breakfast because the breakfast area was out of order. That would have been nice to know before settling for this. If the hotel staff is going to give me these awful living conditions, the least they can do is feed me, and they didn’t even do that.
