Disliked: Saturday night stay .... loud live band in bar below. Fortunately we were tired from an early start and slept in spite of the non stop 80's pop/rock

Staff need to be educated...

Liked: We have stayed here on 2 previous occasions, and like the rooms they are comfortable rooms also with a comfortable bed. This time the rooms seem to be lacking maintenance.
Disliked: Staff not educated about these rooms, we were originally put in a standard room, after we were given our room we realised this was not the type we had booked. We then went to the staff member who gave us the key to this room, and complained this was not a superior room, his comment to us was all rooms are superior, I explained this was incorrect and showed him the room we had booked on the phone, his comment back to us was he is only the bar staff. I mentioned to him he should know all about these rooms as he was our point of contact at the Hotel. He then gave us a superior room, but said they don't let this one as the microwave was not working. I said we wont be using the microwave he then gave us the keys for this room. It looked liked this room had not been used for a while, the bathroom vanity basin would not drain water, after I cleaned the drain it finally worked. The microwave oven light was turning on and off throughout the night. Not sure if we would stay again.

Exceptional

Liked: Fantastic accommodation! Dinner was awesome. We had the fried chicken burgers. Tap beer selection was good. Piano bar until late was a nice surprise. We are coming back.

Spacious room

Liked: Location..this Hotel was close to where my relative lives and I couldn't find an alternative. The room was spacious & comfortably furnished. Good shower.
Disliked: Noise from the pub downstairs and from a central light-well that has a big exhaust. They need to sound proof windows etc. Very limited 'single' power points, I couldn't use the bedside light because I needed a power point for my CPAP machine. There was only one input. Only one 'normal' tea bag, & no coffee making machine. Very basic for a high priced supposedly with a 5 star rating (how it got that rating I've no idea).
