there will be a next...
Liked: This was my first stay at the East Austin Hotel. My check in was easy with the young lady at the desk. I had a lot of questions of how to get to the Austin convention center and she immediately looked it up for me. I found the Hotel in a very convenient location, it was close to all my needs. Its a walking section of the town. Bus stops, restaurants, Whole Foods grocery store, the Austin Convention Center. Swimming pool was inviting but I was unable to utilize it due to a busy schedule. there were even towels at pool side, thats great! the place was very clean.
Disliked: it would be really nice to have a filtered water re-fill station or something to that affect by the office and by each elevator. there's not always someone at the bar and the water in a jug is a lemon-lime water.

Passable
Liked: Location was great.
Disliked: The bathroom was open to the rest of the room, you could hear everything someone was doing in the bathroom. Food options.

Memorable hotel in a great...
Liked: Rooftop bar and pool were gorgeous. Employees were kind and helpful, especially the bartender who did a fantastic job making delicious drinks and paying attention to our needs. Beds were very comfortable. The rooms themselves are clean and well-decorated. Complimentary coffee with a Keurig was much appreciated. The location is excellent, right on 6th street, and there’s parking for guests if any friends in town want to visit to come to the bar. You’d be crazy to stay on 6th street and not expect noise, but if you’re not aware, be sure to bring earplugs.
Disliked: Overall the hotel is great, but a lot of little things added up. Provided bathrobes were wrinkled and one was damaged. The map and instructions on where the ice machine and water was located weren’t accurate. The “complimentary toiletries” provided are large shared shampoo, conditioner, and soap containers in the community showers, which can’t be brought home. The soap was watered down and the conditioner pump was broken, which are disappointing issues to discover when you’re already in a shower. Paid parking is $34 a day and there are signs everywhere cautioning you to buy items in the giftshop lest you be charged for swiping them. I understand why these costs exist and that lots of details can go wrong during a stay, but when rooms are so expensive, it feels like “nickel and diming” to be reminded of extra charges over and over and disappointed by a few amenities where other hotels usually show off, like quality shampoos you can take home with you.
