Abysmal, absolute crime to have...

Liked: Absolutely nothing
Disliked: It should be illegal to call this hovel a hotel, the room was filthy with dirty bed sheets and cups, the carpet was coming up off the floor, the radiator was broken so it was beyond hot in the room (dangerously so) when I asked them to turn it off they didn’t, the light in the bathroom didn’t turn off and the door didn’t close all the way, the plug socket was hanging out of the wall creating a fire hazard, and I’ve seen comfier mattresses in prisons. The staff were not helpful or even polite. They refused to let me pay through the booking.com app which meant I had to pay them directly which felt like they had an ulterior motive for. All in all an absolute disgrace of an establishment and should never be allowed open its doors again.

Unacceptable service from this hotel

Liked: Not much with the actual site. Location was the only positive
Disliked: They forced me to present a credit card even though I told them I wished to pay through the booking.com site. I showed them that my card was noted in that site and I only had to presh the pay button to finish the transaction, which I was willing to do even though my first impressions were very bad. They told me they didn't want to wait 4 weeks for payment and if I did not give them my card payment details I would not be getting the room. I advised them that by rights through booking.com terms I was within my rights to pay the way I had advised them of. A man came on a mobile phone handed to me by the reception agent and was quite aggressive with me. I am concerned now that they might have retained my card details. The actual hotel was dirty the entrance was filthy, filthy carpets in hall and up the stairs. White paintwork everywhere was covered in dirt. Staircase was painted in emulsion like white paint and was black in large parts through greasy hand marks, shockingly bad even though it was cheap, cleanliness was very bad. The room was the same. Excessive heat from the radiator, unable to adjust and concerned at leaving the window open as it had external access. It is the worst experience I have ever had through booking.com.

MOLD

Liked: The stuff was lovely. Good location – plenty of shops, breakfast spots, and a tram nearby with convenient access to the entire city.
Disliked: The entire bathroom was covered in mold – the grout, the silicone around the sink, shower, and toilet, the mirror, the cabinet under the sink, and even the tiles. The smell from the drains was unbearable, and it seemed like a new form of life was growing in the pipes. The toilet tank refilled so slowly that after two flushes, the sound of it refilling lasted about 20-30 minutes. The TV didn’t work and gave off electric shocks, and the kettle was unusable as it was covered in mold and other living organisms. We asked the receptionist for a replacement and were given... a slightly less moldy kettle, which was still unsafe for health. It was incredibly noisy. We were given a basement room with the only window facing the stairs leading to the basement, which were loud and constantly used by people running up and down day and night. In the room above us, it sounded as if someone was rearranging furniture all night long. The conditions were terrible and posed a health hazard. Health authorities should definitely look into this.

the bad reviews are real

Liked: location is the only advantage as it is close to transport links, grocery and varied dining options.
Disliked: place is moldy, toilet has brown ?stains looks like has not been brushed for years. You can hear every sound outside, doors banging, someone walking. Latest checkout time is 10am. pillows as thin as air. doors dont have double locks. If only not because of our emergency situation would have not booked thus place.
