Disappointing
Liked: That they still had availability given there was no other budget accommodation that evening in Wgtn.
Disliked: I had booked through booking. com earlier in the day, as a last minute booking. We hadnt received any information directly from the accommodation itself, as usually a courtesy message is sent.I rang, I emailed and I also messaged them over booking.com but had still not spoken directly to anyone, as we were needing to receive instructions prior to arriving, as we estimated we would be checking in very late in the evening. It was just lucky we were able to arrive earlier then intended and the office was still open after 8pm, where we had been advised it closed at 7pm.There were only 2 towels and 3 of us and no flannels, hand towels or floor mats.

Poor
Liked: Location. Nice spot in the heart of Petone. Very close to restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets. Friendly staff.
Disliked: This place had emergency housing tenants staying on both sides of our accommodation unit. 1 playing loud music & drinking right thru till 2am, whilist having 2 young children and their toys all over the car park. The other tenant had their broken down vehicle parked in our allocated car park outside our room, while their 2nd vehicle was parked blocking the exit. Someone tried opening our door during the night, and when confronted, he said he was looking for his friend. We could smell cannabis during the night, as the units are pretty close to each other. The hotel had plenty of spare rooms on the other side. I wish they had put my family and I there. The hotel should have let us know beforehand that they are hosting emergency housing, which is understandable but made our stay unsettling. The staff were nice, though.

Very disappointing - not what...
Liked: We were given an upgrade.
Disliked: The room we stayed in needs a thorough deep clean. The armchair was broken and should be removed. The linen was marked and stained although we were told it was all fresh that day. Everything felt grimy - the remotes (we had to ask for replacement batteries), the door handles, the bench, etc.

Bad
Liked: Good location
Disliked: We booked a two room suite. We were first.shown a very run down house that smelt of urine. Shown another room that still did t match the photos on line. They advertise Sky TV in every room, there wasn't, the TV only offered Google TV, you tube or Netflix but it didn't connect to the WiFi. There was no milk, the stove was faulty to the point of being dangerous, the oven was filthy, as was the shelfin the shower and many other area. They advertise an iron and ironing board, there was one. There was no sofa in the lounge. The price agreedwas $249 I was charged $253.75.This was my worst experience ever of staying in any accommodation any where in the world.I written to the motel and await there reply.

Should of just driven off!...
Liked: Do not stay here!!!
Disliked: Got there, realized it was emergency housing. The pictures are of the nice building on the same property, not where our rooms were.Had paid for a family of 5, no towels or bath mats. Asked for some and was told room was allocated two towels (so she grabbed us two out of another room) and to ask cleaners in morning. Asked in morning and were told she'd tell cleaners. Had to share towels..had to ask again in afternoon. We're brought over two towels that were really damp. Despite asking twice that day didn't find a bath mat in our room until after our second night/day 3. Fridge was turned off on arrival, not clean looking, stunk. Empty makeshift ash tray under a bed. Smelt like cigarettes, neighbour opposite us was in emergency housing and constantly smoking inside with the door open. The pillows were really old and yellow stained, like so bad...see photo! Got home one day and fuse box had blown. Asked for help. We searched for a fuse box while they had not a clue, the lady was on phone looking in oven, under sink etc while we were logically looking on outside of building and on walls, they were about to change our room when partner found it behind a wardrobe. He fixed it. Would of been scared of what room we may of ended up in next.We wish we'd turned around and left when we pulled in. I actually am pretty understanding about the emergency housing as people need somewhere to go but c'mon, you couldn't give us a comfy bed, clean sheets and pillows????There was a tv but appeared to only work if you entered your own username and password for whichever app you wanted...Don't stay here!!

Functional no frills unit with...
Liked: Spacious unit with a full kitchen and good size bathroom. Beds were pretty comfortable. Staff were really responsive when we needed help. Easy access to everything. Parking was great. Quiet by reasonable hour.
Disliked: Unit was a bit worn out, could do with a bit of sprucing up. No shelves in oven. Bathroom plug blew the fuse for half the unit which should not happen. Had to log into Google on the TV to be able to watch anything. Walls quite thin so noisy neighbours were a bit annoying.
