Needs help

Liked: The location The authenticity of the property
Disliked: It was almost like faulty towers. The hotel needs some thought into it .the area is quiet remote so very poor mobile data. So providing guests with wifi password on arrival would be thoughtful and helpful. The rooms definitely need addressing nails hanging out of the wall, wall tiles loose in the bathroom cracks in the ceiling etc. We asked for a room with a sea view. We ended up with a road view an overgrow tree view and a emergency escape ladder view in the bathroom which was used to deliver laundry (the window was clear glass ) we did get a picture of whitby harbor in the room

Good

Liked: Very nice hotel, lovely comfortable rooms and any amenities you would want. Staff pleasant and helpful
Disliked: Set menu prices - unless you are going to have 3 courses it's not worth it. Hotel is set back on dirt roads so not good to navigate at night. Bar lacked atmosphere. Dog friendly, shows in carpets that need hoovering. Lighting is bright for evening meal

All right but expected better

Liked: Lovely old hotel in pretty gardens and only a few minutes from the coast. Communal areas and breakfast room good and loads of parking. Breakfast decent.
Disliked: Our room was very basic and tucked right up in the attic. It was "All right" but certainly not what we were expecting. For an extra tenner apparently we could have upgraded - that would have been good to know as it was rather underwhelming. we had just missed booking the "Dinner, bed and breakfast" special offer and could not change to it or upgrade to it, so obviously we didn't eat there on principal!"

Remote but lovely

Liked: It was good, staff were great, it was clean, if anything I was impressed
Disliked: Silly really I guess they had ran out of black pudding as part of breakfast, I love black pudding on toast so was slightly disappointed
