Liked: the hotel has class, sufficient breakfast (could be more varied, it gets repetitive if you stay a few days), comfortable and extremely clean room
Disliked: A small terrace for smoking and drinking coffee would be nice, but I don't think the space in front of the hotel helps.

Disappointed returning after previous stays

Liked: Beautiful property in a great location (wonderful hearing practice from the Conservatorio across the Piazza San Anastasia). Interesting decor, with special frescoes and period furniture. Roof terrace and internal courtyard would be great in summer. Breakfast is extensive and excellent except for coffee which is awful (cappuccino good). Dinner at the restaurant was also delicious, imaginative and perfectly paced. Staff are universally pleasant, helpful and efficient.
Disliked: Lots of small stuff but adds up: No coffee making or kettle in room. The room (25m2 according to booking.com 23m2 according to front desk) seems smaller thanks to monumental bed! There are NO useful drawers - 4 ones at below knee level about 5” deep only, then a shelf I could just reach (and my husband couldnt) above wardrobe so we hung what we could and lived out of suitcases for 4 days. Hangars ALL have clips for pants/skirts so catch on any shirts/sweaters/dresses.Toilet would not stop flushing without pressing a stop button (white on white) on the upper flush panel- weird.This hotel has a big section on sustainability but changes bedlinen every day (if you dont stop them!), hardly sustainable and a lot of work for chambermaids.Obsessive clearing of breakfast table so caps were whisked away fromYoghurts (wanted to keep so could take left over to room), plates removed when was going to return to buffet, staff were lovely but obviously told to do this and it made experience less relaxing than should be.
