Disliked: Room was a bit basic and rather small for two people. Needs more hooks/pegs and shelf space in shower room

Liked: We sort of got the room I requested as we are regulars now. The was great and cosy, however it creaked which made for a fitful nights sleep. The food is excellent and always hot. The service was brilliant.
Disliked: I always ak for a quiet room on the 1st floor and at the end of the corridor avoiding any proximity to the fire doors. This time despite being told I would get room I had the last time (I did mention it at booking in and the person ignored that) we got one by a fire door. Luckily the hotel was not busy so no massive traffic. The early start of the hot water system was not welcome and on the Saturday it started later.?? Why does it make a noise anyway. The bed creaked, easily solved as the shower door that does not close.

Liked: It was close to my family home and our first choice hotel was unavailable
Disliked: The accommodations are very tatty, shabby and dated. Inside our room, there was a strong smell of fresh paint. It the freshen up was a bit of a bodge with wall paint daubed mistakenly on the white door. Bed is very hard. Not great value overall; clearly £20-30 more expensive than other nicer local places simply because size it has a golf course (in ear shot of the dual carriageway…).
