Paid around £270 for 1 night stay not including breakfast. No parking available at hotel and £25 a night for the 14 or so bays. That’s over £300 a night for the hotel. No fridge in the room which was a complimentary upgrade. Another night booked there later in the year, it will be the last. noticed a brand new Premier Inn a few hundred yards away, will use that thereafter.

Liked: It is a nice hotel in a good location.
Disliked: Price of one night stay. Parking charge and no fridge.

Cold, dirty

Liked: Paid nearly £200 per night to stay here. Location fantastic walking distance to all the hot spots in York. We had room 54 which is a suit. It was freezing cold and there was an electric heater next to the bed which didn’t make any surface. The toilet would not flush. The room wasn’t clean. We complained and were given a new room which wasn’t much better either. This hotel is not worth the money to stay in at all. Would not recommend.

A Perfect Stay in the...

Liked: We had a wonderful stay, starting with the delicious welcome cookies. The room was spacious, and the location was perfect, within walking distance of the historic center and close to York Minster Cathedral, surrounded by charming bookshops and cafes. We were delighted to have received a free upgrade to a deluxe double room. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable with fluffy bedding. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.
Disliked: While our stay at the hotel was generally pleasant, I did have an issue with the air conditioning unit. It seemed to be covered in dust, and the discarded flag was a bit concerning. Unfortunately, this caused my allergies to flare up, which made it difficult for me to fully enjoy my stay. For anyone with asthma or severe allergies, I would recommend checking the cleanliness of the air unit before using it. Regular cleaning would certainly improve the overall experience.

Liked: Location was good but noisy due to close proximity of traffic this is something to be aware of but it would not put us off re- booking , we liked the 2 double beds , but unfortunately the room had a strong unpleasant odour and the sofa in the reception room was heavily stained and extremely offputting! it would be better off being disposed of! the bathrooms were immaculate and this was really the thing that swayed us to stay!
