Rubbish, overpriced and never to...

Liked: Rooftop pool.
Disliked: 1) initially being put into a room as though we were physically challenged requiring specialised toilet and bathroom facilities. Great to have catered for these needs, but we did not need them. The room was set up for wheel chair access and facing the city. At the $ per room charge, per night, it is not unreasonable to expect a standard room with maybe a river view - or at least disclose the higher rates more clearly / obviously rather than buried in small print you pay more for the view2) having to wait as a manager decided what room we should have. The front line staff clearly have no decision making ability or trust from management. What a terrible working culture!3) having to pay extra for a river view when no T&C disclose the rate charge difference - clearly anyway4) to then find out a wedding party with heavy bass was above us until 12:30am followed by walking heals as staff cleared the area - really poor acoustic design 5) we heard every toilet flush throughout the night from above us. It was refreshing after I approached the front desk once we worked out it was a wedding and not a party room above us. The upgrade charge was removed, but why not just tell us there might be some noise due to the wedding when we were allocated the room.. I.e above our room? At least then we have a choice? The night was meant to be a romantic evening as we were international travelling for family reasons and needed a break to only have what I would describe as an over priced, obviously revenue driven commercial service design with an insincere “smile but offer them to have a cookie” insult…which only further insults anyone with any experience in the industry. It really was a poor experience.

Exceptional

Liked: Location perfect, room perfect and breakfast prefect
Disliked: The only down side is the windows with the strikes on the outside windows. But, everything else perfect.

Sadly Disappointed

Liked: Team members were excellent and room was comfortable. Adjacent to Wharf 3 where we caught the ferry to Rottnest island. Level 2 restaurant was good and Roof Bar too until it became very busy and noisey.
Disliked: Having happily paid premium rates for our booking we were absolutely astounded that in 2024, unless we signed up for the Hilton's loyalty scheme (and subject ourselves to a torrent of unwanted marketing blurb) we would have to pay $9.95 per night to connect to the internet. (not to mention the need to troll through seemingly endless Terms and Conditions). Every other accomodation venue on our 5 week road trip provided the service for no extra charge. We did being this up with our Manager Fabrice, who instantly offerred to refund the $9.95. and escalate the matter "up the line". We decided not to connect to the internet, and, not unexpectantly, have heard nothing more from the Hilton heirarchy. The people in Head Office are letting their team down by instituting an internet policy that is clearly outdated and at odds with their commitment to their guests' satisfaction. I would hope that my comments will be passed on, but doubt that appropriate acknowledgement and action will happen.
