Very good
Liked: Very nice night / early morning receptionist, I think his name is Louis..I had huge flight issues during the night ...and just went back to the hotel..Louis did EVERYTHING to find a new room for me..and the hotel was super full, he checked, he called, he asked colleagues...and sister properties, he was the nicest and most engaged receptionist ever!!! and finally he managed ..and I could rest a bit ..before going to the airport again. Thank you Louis, you really helped me!!!
Disliked: The breakfast receptionist, an asian gentlemen was very kind and patient, but he needs help..at least on weekends when the queue is long..

Had a lovely break away...
Liked: Had dinner in Reels. The service was excellent. The food was superb. Now have faith that fine dining hasn’t been lost.

1 Night at Double Tree...
Liked: Friendly team , clean, rooms well kept, great food, good Pool. Not heated. Great stay all round.
Disliked: Parking is a pain, but seriously not that far, 7 to 10 min walk to causeway open parking. Perhaps some more seating around the Pool or perhaps more loungers around the Pool Basr, so much wasted space we felt and given how guests had been waiting for a lounger. A minor thing and a suggestion.. Overall great stay. Thank you to all the team there.

Beware of offered upgrades.
Liked: The room we finally ended up in was spacious and comfortable with a nice view. The decor was similar to a Holiday Inn Express - comfortable, clean, utilitarian. Panoramic view on high floor was nice.
Disliked: BEWARE OF OFFERED UPGRADES! We originally booked a King panoramic city view. Hilton emailed us and offered an "upgrade" to King panoramic River view for a small additional charge. The upgrade was definitely a downgrade. Low floor view, and the room ended up being exactly under the fitness center. At 4am we were awaken by dropping dumbbells and the incessant grinding of running machines. We went to reception immediately and asked for another room. They offered us a room one floor further down, but we could tell it would only be a rooftop view so we refused. Then they offered us a room further away from the gym on the same floor - we had to move ourselves. We moved in, and realized that the room was directly above a busy pub next door, you could almost shake hands with the bartender. Reception confirmed it would be loud at night, but only until midnight or so. We asked for another room. After telling us the hotel was "97% full" and they couldn't do any better, they offered us a downgrade to Twin City View. As you can imagine, we weren't happy, and after further negotiating they finally gave us a River view on a higher floor, informing us they were being generous because normally they charge a higher upgrade fee but they would just collect the lower upgrade fee they already charged us. Again, we had to move our stuff by ourself. We didn't feel they were being generous at all.Although this hotel tries to present as a four-star experience, it's basically a giant motel with a bit better decoration but same level of service. Not going back to this chain again.
